Starting with Foxit PDF Editor 2026.2, AI Assistant has been upgraded to AI Assistant 2.0, delivering a more unified and intelligent AI experience. AI Assistant 2.0 introduces a redesigned experience focused on simplicity, discoverability, and intelligent workflows. This update consolidates multiple AI capabilities into AI Chat, introduces new audio experiences such as Read Aloud and Smart Podcast, enhances document interaction through AI Skills, and streamlines the overall user experience by simplifying navigation and reducing reliance on standalone tools.

The goal of AI Assistant 2.0 is to make AI capabilities easier to find, easier to use, and more deeply integrated into your document workflow. AI Chat now serves as the central hub for many AI-powered experiences, while new features such as Read Aloud, Smart Podcast, and Edit PDF via Chat help users interact with documents more efficiently.

• Both free and paid users can translate entire documents as long as sufficient credits are available.

To better align with PDF reading scenarios, the text and image selection menus have been streamlined.

Why These Changes?

PDF documents are primarily consumed for reading rather than content creation. To reduce menu complexity and improve usability, AI Assistant 2.0 focuses on high-frequency reading-related actions, with Translate Text remaining the primary AI capability in the selection menu.

The Chat interface has been redesigned with fewer menu items and more centralized settings management.

User Experience Improvements

• AI Settings now serves as the centralized location for account, legal, and credit-related information.
• History management has moved to the Start Page Chat History experience.
• Temporary Chat remains available through a more visible dedicated icon.
