Verifying Domain Across Multiple Admin Consoles

Explains how to verify ownership of a domain across multiple Foxit Admin Console accounts.

Answer

As the owner of a domain, in this directory settings interface, you can view the following information:

  • Domain verification record: At the top of the page, there is a record value for domain verification. You can click the "Copy" button to copy this record value for use in DNS settings. Meanwhile, there is a prompt indicating that the same record can be used for multiple domains, and DNS changes may take up to 72 hours to update.
  • List of verified domains: The list below displays all relevant domain information, including "Domain", "Status" (such as Trusted and Unverified), and "Verification" (all using DNS in this case).
  • Action options: Different actions can be performed for domains in different states.
    • For domains with the "Trusted" status and already verified, you can click "Revoke Trustee" and "Details".
    • For domains with the "Unverified" status, you can click "Verify" and "Remove".
    • You can also click the "Add Domain" button to add new domains

As the owner of a domain, when verifying the domain, you can make the following "Domain settings":

In the pop - up "Domain Details" window, there is an option "Allow other companies to apply for access to this domain". This option can either be checked or unchecked. When it is checked, if other companies want to apply for access to this domain, your approval is required. If it is unchecked, the relevant permission settings for other companies to apply for access to this domain may vary.

You can click the "Save" button to save the setting changes, or click the "Cancel" button to discard the current setting changes.

As the owner of a domain, when receiving a domain access request:

  • View requests: You can view relevant application notifications in the "Notifications" interface. For example, notifications like "Foxit - new requests access to your domain or directory" are displayed, with specific timestamps attached to each notification, which helps you understand the order of the requests.
  • Handle requests: You can choose to approve or reject these access requests.
  • Revoke access rights: After approving a request, if necessary later, you can perform a revocation operation. In the "Revoke Trustee" interface, you can see the domain that requested access (such as "azusac.top") and relevant information about the requester, including the enterprise name, requester's name, email address, technical contact's email, and the location of the data center. Click the "Revoke" button to revoke the granted access rights. It should be noted that once the access rights are revoked, users who have been synchronized to the organization will be deleted and will no longer be able to use the licenses assigned to them. Clicking the "Cancel" button will cancel the current revocation operation.

In the Directory Settings page, other administrators can apply for access rights to a domain. The specific steps are as follows:

  1. Add a domain: Click the "Add Domain" button on the right side of the page and enter the domain for which access rights are to be applied.
  2. Verify the domain: As prompted on the page, add the provided.txt record to the DNS host of the domain you want to verify, and then click "Verify Domain" for verification.
  3. Await approval: After the application is submitted, the status will show "Needs approval".
  4. Subsequent actions: As the Domain Trustee of the domain, if the application is not approved or you need to apply again, you can click "Resend Request". If you no longer wish to proceed with the application, you can click "Cancel Request".

The pop - up window for "Revoke trustee status". The information displayed and the available operations are as follows:

  • Prompt message: The pop - up window prompts users to confirm whether they really want to revoke the trustee status and notifies them that if the domain is already linked to a directory, they will be unable to access the directory and all domains within the directory after revocation. Meanwhile, when the access to the trusted domain is removed, users who have been synchronized to the organization will also be deleted and will no longer be able to use the licenses assigned to them.
  • Operation buttons: There are two buttons. Clicking "Cancel" can cancel this revocation operation, and clicking "Revoke" confirms the execution of the operation to revoke the trustee status
