Using Foxit PDF Editor on Claude

Foxit PDF Editor is now integrated with Claude. You can discover and install our app directly from the Claude Connectors to manage, edit, and convert your PDF documents through natural language conversations.

Overview

Foxit PDF Editor connects with Claude using the Model Context Protocol (MCP), allowing Claude to securely interact with your PDF documents on your behalf. Once installed, you can create, convert, edit, analyze, and manage PDF files simply by telling Claude what you need in plain language.

All file processing is securely powered by Foxit PDF Cloud Services, ensuring accurate, high-quality results for every task.

Key Features & Capabilities

Once the Foxit integration is enabled, Claude can perform the following tasks:

  • Document Management: Upload, organize, share, and delete documents within your Foxit workspace.
  • PDF Creation: Convert Microsoft Office files, images, web pages, and other formats into clean PDFs.
  • PDF Conversion: Convert PDF documents into Word, Excel, plain text, images, and more.
  • PDF Editing: Merge, split, extract, delete, reorder, and rotate PDF pages seamlessly.
  • PDF Optimization: Compress, flatten, and linearize PDF files to reduce file size and optimize for web loading.
  • Content Extraction: Extract text and structured data from your PDF documents.

Getting Started

Step 1. Open Claude and Navigate to Connectors

Log in to your Claude account and open the Connectors section.

Step 2. Enable "Foxit PDF Editor"

Search for "Foxit PDF Editor" in the directory and toggle it on to enable the integration.

Step 3. Start a conversation

Open a new chat session in Claude. The Foxit PDF Editor tools are now active and ready for use.

Simply describe your PDF requirements in plain language. (e.g., "Convert this PDF to a Word document via Foxit"). Claude will automatically select and run the correct Foxit tools behind the scenes—no special commands or technical expertise required.

Quick Tip: When Claude identifies that your action requires a specific file, a widget will pop up. You can either click "Upload files" or drag and drop your file directly to upload it. Your files will be securely processed by Foxit PDF Cloud, and the download link or result will appear right in the chat window.

Important Technical Notes
  • Maximum File Size: The maximum file upload limit per document is 100 MB.
