Troubleshooting "xx@xx has already been registered in the system"

Provides troubleshooting steps for the already been registered in the system error encountered during Foxit product activation.

Answer

Issue Description:

Recently, we made changes to enhance security measures, which resulted in the auto-binding feature between Microsoft and Foxit accounts being disabled. Previously, new users invited to use Foxit could log in using the Microsoft button, automatically binding their Microsoft account with the newly created Foxit account. However, following the security update, the auto-binding feature is no longer available, and users receive the warning "xx@xx has already been registered in the system."

We provide two solutions for this issue:

Solution1: Using the Microsoft Account Button

Solution 2: Manually Entering Your Account Credentials

Solution1: Using the Microsoft Account Button

1. Admin Configuration:

2. User Password Reset:

  • Instruct the user to go to https://www.foxit.com
  • On the website, guide them to click on " Forgot Password " to initiate the password reset process.
  • The user should follow the provided guide to create a new password.

3. Account Binding:

  • After successfully setting up the new password, instruct the user to visit https://account.foxit.com
  • They should log in using their email and new password.
  • Under the account binding section, direct the user to click on the Microsoft button to bind their Microsoft account to their Foxit account. Refer to the visuals below for further clarification.

4. Admin Configuration Update:

  • Once the user has completed the account binding process, the admin should return to the Foxit Admin Console.
  • Remove the user from the SSO exclusion list.

5. User Activation:

  • Instruct the user to open the local Foxit Editor application.
  • They should log in via the Microsoft button to activate Foxit.

6. Optional: Clearing Foxit Cache:

  • If the activation process in step 5 fails, the user can try clearing the Foxit cache. The cache locations are as follows:
    For Windows: "%appdata%\Foxit Software"
    For Mac: "~/Library/Application\ Support/Foxit\ Software/"

Solution 2: Manually Entering Your Account Credentials

1. Visit the Foxit login page.

2. Enter the email address and password associated with your Foxit account.

3. Click on " Login " to proceed with the activation process.

Please follow these instructions carefully to ensure successful account activation in Foxit.
