Personalized Sender Email Configuration
Answer
Personalized Sender Email lets your Foxit eSign emails go out from your own company domain instead of the default Foxit eSign address. Your recipients see a sender they recognize, which builds trust and helps your emails stay out of the spam folder.
You will find the Personalized Sender Name and Personalized Sender Email fields on the Custom Branding page. Before your address will actually work, your domain needs to be verified. Our Security and Support teams take care of that with you.
Note: Available for eSign Business customers.
Before You Start
Have these ready:
- A Foxit eSign Business account.
- The email domain you want to send from, for example, yourcompany.com.
- Someone who can edit your DNS settings. This is usually your IT team or whoever manages your domain.
Click the Settings (gear) icon in the left menu, then select Custom Branding. The Personalized Sender Name and Personalized Sender Email fields are at the top of the page.
- Email the domain you want to use to our Support team at esignsupport@foxit.com. Support passes it to our Security team.
- Security creates the DNS records for your domain and sends them back to you through Support.
- Your IT team adds those records to your domain provider's DNS settings.
- Let Support know once the records are live.
- Support checks that every record is set up correctly.
- Once the check passes, we turn on Personalized Sender Email for your account.
- Go to Settings > Custom Branding, enter your sender email and sender name, and click Save with 2FA.
You can fill in the fields at any point, but your address will only start working once the domain check has passed.
DNS Records You Will NeedSecurity will send you the exact values. There are three records:
- SPF confirms that Foxit eSign is allowed to send email for your domain.
- DKIM signs each email so the receiving mail server knows it was not tampered with.
- DMARC tells receiving mail servers what to do if a message fails the SPF or DKIM check.
Note: Add the records exactly as they are given to you. Changing or shortening them will cause the check to fail.
Good to Know- DNS changes can take anywhere from a few hours up to 24 to 48 hours to go live, depending on your domain provider.
- Personalized Sender Email cannot be turned on until all records pass the check.
- Seeing the field in your settings does not mean it is active yet. The domain check has to be done first.
- If you remove or change these DNS records later, your emails may stop being delivered. Let Support know at esignsupport@foxit.com before you touch them.
- Sending from more than one domain? Each one needs its own setup.
