Fix Insufficient Foxit License Quantity Error

Provides troubleshooting steps for the Insufficient number of specified license error that occurs when assigning Foxit licenses in Admin Console.

Problem

Despite still having available licenses to assign in Admin Console, when the admin attempts to allocate remaining available licenses to users, it results in the message "Insufficient number of specified license. Please select other available license, remove some existing licenses, reset license quota or purchase additional licenses.". For example (below can be checked in License Management > Assign License > Bulk operation results):

Possible Cause

In Admin Console, customized organizations have been set up and license quotas have been set for these organizations.

If the organization (which specific user belongs to) doesn't have available license according to license quota, then this "Insufficient license" error will occur when the admin attempts to assign license to the specific user.

The admin can check the license quota and the organization that specific user belongs to, by followings:

  1. Check if license quota is set for customized organization and how many is the license quota for customized organization:
    Navigate to License Management > Assign License > Set Quota and check the table under "Set Quota".

  2. Check which customized organization the specific user belongs to:
    Navigate to User ID Management > Customize Organization > Select the root customized organization and input user account in the search bar and press "Enter" key to search.
    If no record is found, that means the user is not belong to current selected customized organization.

According to information above, the admin can judge if there is still sufficient amount of license(s) for the organization (which specific user belongs to) to be assigned to the specific user.

 

SolutionsSolution-1: Increase the quota of target organization that specific user belongs to.
  1. Navigate to License Management > Assign License > Set Quota:
  2. Click "Edit" button to modify the quota for target organization and save the change:
  3. After the license quota of target organization is increased, then please assign license to the specific user again.

 

Solution-2: Add specific user to the target organization which still have available license to assign.
  1. Navigate to User ID Management > Customize Organization.

  2. 2.a If specific user is unorganized, please choose the target organization (which still have available license to assign) and click "Add users" to add specific user to this organization.

    2.b If specific user is organized but not in the target organization, please choose the organization that this user currently belongs to, select this user, click "Move to" button to move this user to target organization.
  3. After specific user has been added/moved to the target organization, then please assign license to the specific user again.
