How to reassign licenses via CSV

In certain scenarios, you may need to reassign user licenses, such as when licenses are nearing expiration or need to be updated. This article will guide you on how to reassign licenses.

Steps1. Disable Email Notifications

Before reassigning licenses, it is recommended to disable email notifications to prevent users from receiving unnecessary alerts.

  1. Log in to the Admin Console.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Enterprise Customization.
  3. Uncheck the following options:
    • Assigning/Updating licenses to users
    • Removing user licenses
  4. Click Save to apply the changes.

2. Export License Data
  1. In the Admin Console, navigate to License Management > Export.
  2. Ensure the exported data contains the data you need.
  3. Download the generated CSV file.

3. Filter and Clean the CSV File
  1. Open the downloaded CSV file and filter the users that need to be modified. Delete data for other users.
  2. Remove unnecessary columns, retaining only the Email column.
  3. Save the modified CSV file.
4. Remove Licenses
  1. In the Admin Console, navigate to License Management > Remove License.
  2. Select Remove licenses with CSV file.
  3. Upload the modified CSV file and click OK to confirm.

5. Reassign Licenses
  1. In the Admin Console, navigate to Assign License > Assign license with CSV file.
  2. Select the updated CSV file.
  3. Check the new license, click the three-dot menu next to the license, and select Customize the assigned license.
  4. Click OK to confirm.

By following the steps above, you can successfully disable email notifications and reassign user licenses. This process ensures all users are synced to the current license settings.
