How to enable AI Assistant in Foxit PDF Editor for Windows?

By default, starting from Version 2023.2, Foxit PDF Editor will include an AI Assistant tool. If the AI Assistant was previously disabled, you will need to enable it again if you wish to use it.

(Note: The AI Assistant tool is not available in permanently licensed versions of Foxit PDF Editor, such as Foxit PDF Editor V13.)

• Deploy Foxit PDF Editor with AI Assistant Enabled.
  • Enable AI Assistant using the Admin Console
  • Enable AI Assistant using the Foxit Customization Wizard tool (MST)
  • Enable AI Assistant using the Registry Editor
  • Enable AI Assistant using GPO
• Manually Enable AI Assistant from the Foxit PDF Editor

Enable AI Assistant using the Admin Console

1. In the Foxit Admin Console, navigate to the Products tab
2. Under Product Configuration, select Configuration for editor products
   
   
   
3. Click on the Feature Settings tab and select Foxit PDF Editor Windows
4. Please check the "AI Assistant" option to allow access for all users or specific users.
   

Enable AI Assistant using the Foxit Customization Wizard tool

1. Navigate to Plugin options of the Foxit Customization Wizard tool
2. Make sure to uncheck 'AI Assistant' to ensure it is not disabled

Enable AI Assistant using the Registry Editor

Navigate to key:

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Foxit Software\Foxit PDF Editor\Continuous\plugins\Installed\FoxitInnerPluginAiAssistant

Set value for DWORD Load Behavior to "9" in the Registry Editor

Or run the following command in an elevated Command Prompt:

For Current User:

Reg.exe add "HKCU\Software\Foxit Software\Foxit PDF Editor\Continuous\plugins\Installed\FoxitInnerPluginAiAssistant" /v "LoadBehavior" /t REG_DWORD /d "9" /f

For Local Machine:

Reg.exe add "HKLM\Software\Foxit Software\Foxit PDF Editor\Continuous\plugins\Installed\FoxitInnerPluginAiAssistant" /v LoadBehavior /t REG_DWORD /d 9 /f

Enable AI Assistant using GPO

1. Open Group Policy
2. Navigate to Foxit PDF Editor
3. Select Plugins
4. Click on Remove Plugins>Enabled,make sure to uncheck 'AI Assistant' to ensure it is not disabled

Manually Enable AI Assistant from the Foxit PDF Editor

1.Open the Foxit PDF Editor and navigate to the Help tab

2.Select Foxit Plug-Ins

3.Set AI Assistant to On and click Ok

4.Click on "File"tab in Foxit PDF Editor>"Preferences">“General”，please uncheck the option "Disable AI Assistant" under the Application Startup Section,click on "OK" to save the setting.

5. Then, please restart your Foxit PDF Editor to reload the AI Assistant tab.
