By default, Foxit Editor/Reader includes some common plugins, such as ECM integration plugin(iManage, NdOffice, SharePoint, etc), Updater plugin and so on.
In this article, we provide several solutions for disabling these plugins.
1:For end users, they can disable those plugins by tab Help > Foxit Plugin-Ins > Turn off plugins.
2:For IT Admin, they could control installed applications in the organization by GPO templates or XML file.
To get GPO template, please access to Available GPO templates – Help Center | Foxit Software . After importing the GPO template in domain server, IT Admin could access to Plugins > Remove Plugins to disable some plugins like below picture.
To configure XML file for Foxit PDF Editor/Reader,please download the Foxit Customization tool ,choose "XML Editor Foxit PDF Editor" in its welcome window,click on OK to enter into XML configration interface,please access to Plugins > Remove Plugins to disable some plugins like below picture.
Then click on Save button on top left corner to save all the settings you have set into a ProfStore.xml file. Distribute the XML file into the “ProfStore” folder located in the main installation folder of your Foxit PDF Editor. By default, the location is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Foxit Software\Foxit PDF Editor (or Foxit PDF Reader)\ProfStore"
Restart Foxit PDF Editor/Reader to apply the XML file settings.
3:If customers want to install the application without some features, it is recommended to use Foxit Customization tool to customize the package. As shown in following picture, navigate to Plugins > Mark the plugins to disable. Then saving this configuration to generate .mst file.
4: For licenses are centrally managed through the Foxit Admin Console platform,the super admin of the console can also customize which users can access the plugins via the features settings function in the platform. The plugins currently supported by the Admin Console include Cloud Documents, AI Assistant, Foxit eSign, and Smart Redact. To do this, in the Foxit Admin console, go to Settings > Product Configuration > Feature Settings > Choose Product (such as Foxit PDF Editor Windows), and then choose which plugin to display in the program and specifically to which users it should be displayed.
