How to Cancel Your Foxit Subscription or Trial
Explains how to cancel a Foxit product subscription or trial.
Answer
Your annual subscription billed monthly cannot be canceled after 14 days of purchase, but you can disable auto-renewal before your 12-month term ends to prevent future charges.
Understanding Your Annual Subscription Billed Monthly
Foxit offers annual subscription plans only—there is no month-to-month billing option. When you purchase an annual plan billed monthly, you commit to a continuous 12-month term. The monthly billing arrangement allows us to provide the annual discount while maintaining consistent pricing throughout your subscription period.
Important Policy: This subscription plan cannot be canceled or refunded after 14 days from your initial purchase date. If you need to cancel within this 14-day window, contact Foxit Support for cancellation assistance.
After the 14-day cancellation period expires, your only option is to disable auto-renewal. This prevents your subscription from automatically renewing when your current 12-month term ends, allowing you to avoid charges for future periods while maintaining access through your current subscription expiration date.
How to Disable Auto-Renewal for Your Subscription
Disabling auto-renewal stops future charges after your current 12-month commitment ends. Your subscription remains fully active until the end of your current billing term.
Step 1: Log in to your Foxit account
Navigate to https://www.foxit.com and log in with your registered email and password.
Step 2: Access your subscription settings
Once logged in, locate your profile initials or avatar icon in the upper right corner of the page. Click on your profile button to open the dropdown menu.
Step 3: Navigate to My Subscriptions
From the dropdown menu, click Plans and Products, then select My Subscriptions from the submenu options.
Step 4: Locate your active subscription
On the My Subscriptions page, you'll see a table listing all your subscriptions. Each row displays your subscription details including Product name, Price, Billing Rate, Status, and available Actions.
Find your active annual subscription plan (status will show as "Active" or similar) in the table. Note your specific renewal date, which appears in the subscription details.
Step 5: Click the Auto-renewal button
In the Actions column of your active subscription, locate and click the Auto-renewal button. This button controls your auto-renewal settings.
Step 6: Confirm your cancellation reason
A dialog box appears titled "Cancel Auto-renewal!" asking you to select a reason for disabling auto-renewal. The dialog presents multiple options, including:
- We are using the trial/free plan as a temporary solution
- Could you please let us know why? (Multiple choice allowed)
- The subscription doesn't include the features that I need
- The subscription includes unwanted features or services
- Hard to use
- The product is cost-prohibitive
- No longer need the product
- Experienced glitches
- Not satisfied with the vendor
- I found a better alternative
Select the reason that best applies to your situation. You may select multiple reasons if applicable.
Step 7: Complete the cancellation
After selecting your cancellation reason(s), click the Cancel Auto-renewal button to confirm your decision.
Once you complete these steps, the following occurs:
Immediate Effect: Your subscription's auto-renewal setting is disabled. You will not be automatically charged when your current 12-month term expires.
Active Subscription: Your subscription remains fully functional with complete access to all features until the end of your current billing term. Your renewal date does not change—your access simply expires at that time without automatic renewal.
No Further Charges: After your current term ends, no additional charges appear on your billing method.
Future Re-subscription: If you decide to subscribe again in the future, you'll need to manually create a new subscription plan through your account.
Key Dates to RememberReview your account to identify these important dates:
Purchase Date: The date you initially purchased your subscription (determines your 14-day cancellation window).
Renewal Date: The date your current 12-month subscription automatically renews. This date appears in your subscription details. Disabling auto-renewal prevents charges on this date.
Term End Date: The final date your subscription remains active after disabling auto-renewal (typically 12 months from your purchase date).
