Short answerIn the Sources tab of your project, click the small overflow icon next to the tab row and choose New Folder. It's easy to miss because it isn't a visible button -- it's tucked behind that one icon.
Applies to: Foxit Workspace, version 0.1.3 and laterWhere is the option to create a folder?Open a project and go to the Sources tab. Next to the sort icon, there's a second icon that opens an overflow menu with Search, Select, New Folder, Add Files, Upload Folder, Refresh List, and Show Hidden Assets. If you've been looking for a "New Folder" button and not finding one, this menu is where it lives.
- In the Sources tab, click the overflow icon next to the sort icon.
- Click New Folder.
- A new folder appears in the list with its name ready to edit -- type a name.
- Press Enter to confirm.
Drag a file from the Sources list directly onto the folder, or use the file's own … menu and choose Move to to pick a destination folder. The "Move to" submenu opens a full expandable tree of every folder in the project (including nested subfolders), so you can move a file or folder to any level, not just top-level folders. An individual file's own … menu is richer than a folder's: Rename, Move to, Select, Export to, Download, Delete -- "Export to" and "Download" only apply to files, not folders.
How do I rename, move, or delete a folder?- Hover over the folder to reveal its … icon.
- Click … for Rename, Move to (opens a submenu to relocate the folder itself, for nested organization), or Delete.
If you upload a file with the exact same name as one already in that folder, Workspace blocks it rather than silently overwriting or renaming it:
Rename the file before re-uploading, or move/delete the existing one first, then use Retry on the failed item in the upload tray.
What are "Add Files" and "Upload Folder" for, versus dragging files onto the Sources panel?Add Files opens a file picker to add one or more individual files. Upload Folder lets you upload an entire folder from your computer at once, preserving its structure inside the project. Both do the same thing as dragging files directly into the Sources panel -- they're just alternatives for when drag-and-drop isn't convenient.
