My signature certificates are being saved separately to my documents?

To ensure Foxit Connectors function as intended, you will need to change the ‘Attach Certificate to Document PDFs’ setting within eSign. This setting appends the certificate(s) to the completed PDF synced to your external platform, preserving the audit trail and validating the digital signature.

Steps to enable:

  1. Open the eSign application.
  1. Go to Settings > Account Settings > Sending/Signing.
  1. Locate ‘Attach Certificate to Document PDFs’.
  1. Select ‘Attach certificate as the last page to each document in the envelope’.
  1. Save your changes.

My executed files aren't showing in the external storage platform?

Please check in Settings > Connectors > “Platform” that:

  1. You have defined a Custom Executed Location, and that location still exists within the external storage platform.
  2. Frequency to Store files is set to ‘On Execution”.
  3. Default File Storage is set to “Yes”.

Files do not sync instantly and may take from a few minutes to hours to appear. If you’re still not seeing files, please reconnect / reauthorize with the external storage platform and try again.

My platform is no longer connecting, what can I do?

Your authentication token may have expired, in which case the Connector will display a ‘reauthenticate’ button. Follow the prompts to restore connection.

If this hasn’t solved the problem, please disconnect and reconnect to the Connector. All templates and settings will remain intact so long as you reconnect within 30 days.

If you’re still encountering problems, please get in touch.

How do I sync my external platform data with eSign?

When a Connector is first set up, contacts and groups from the external platform are automatically synced with Foxit eSign. These contacts and groups are then resynchronized at regular intervals to keep data up to date. If you would like to perform a manual sync:

  1. Go to Settings > Connectors > <your connector>
  1. Click ‘Sync’

What permission controls exist for Connectors?

Once configured, the use of field mapping and file storage are available for use by all eSign users in an organization. Only a Super Admin may connect/disconnect, modify settings for all Connectors, and setup/modify templates and field mapping. No further permission controls exist.

What data sensitivity and privacy controls exist?

Data Sensitivity

When setting up a connector for the first time you will encounter a ‘Review your data permissions’ screen. Any optional data sensitivity permissions can be modified on this page.

If you would like to change which fields can be accessed by eSign and you’ve already setup your Connector, please disconnect and reconnect, modifying the settings as you choose on reconnection. If you have further data sensitivity requirements, please get in touch.

Privacy

Connectors does not inherit permissions from external platforms. By default, once templates have been created, all eSign users will have exposure to the data from external platforms when previewing documents before send. To increase the level of privacy, you can limit the previewing of documents to mask any sensitive information.

To change this setting:

  1. Go to Settings > Connectors
  1. Select the appropriate Connector
  1. Change the radio button to ‘Masked for Privacy’.

Note: this setting does not exist for File Storage platforms, as these do not pull external platform data through mapped fields.

The external platform my organization uses is not shown?

We’re constantly exploring new platforms to add. Please get in touch with us using the form below.

I want to trial Connectors before I purchase, how do I do this?

You can view a demo of Connectors functionality on our Foxit Playground. For a more thorough trial, please get in touch with us using the form below.

My organization doesn’t pool eSign users. How can we use Connectors?

If you do not pool users under the one organizational account, Connectors will need to be purchased and setup by each user individually, and will only apply to that one account.

Can I transfer Connector credits between accounts?

No, Connector Credits are assigned at the account level and cannot be transferred.

What happens if I don’t renew my credits?

Your active connections will be disconnected, and your Connector settings will be retained for 90 days. If you purchase new credits within this window, you can reconnect without reconfiguring.

Are Connector Credits included in my eSign subscription?

Connector Credits are an add-on product and must be purchased separately.

Why does connecting to some platforms require more than one Connector Credit?

Certain platforms, like BambooHR, fall under multiple categories (e.g., ATS and HRIS) because they offer distinct sets of features and functionality. To ensure you can fully leverage all the capabilities these platforms provide, each functional area requires its own connection. This allows you to seamlessly integrate and maximize the value of these systems without compromising on the specialized features you need for your workflows.
