Fix FoxitPDFEditorBrowserAx Printing Error
Explains how to resolve the FoxitPDFEditorBrowserAx error that occurs when printing a PDF from an application running inside Internet Explorer with Foxit PDF Editor.
Answer
Introduction:
If you encounter the error message "FoxitPDFEditorBrowserAx" when trying to print from an application running on Internet Explorer, know that this issue typically stems from a conflict between the "IE browser plugin" used by the Foxit PDF Editor and the "ocx" module invoked in your IE webpage. The solution to address this issue is to disable or remove the IE browser plugin. There are several ways to do this:
Solution 1: Rename the "IE Browser Plugin" Files:
1:Navigate to the default installation directory of the Foxit PDF Editor, typically found at C:\Program Files (x86)\Foxit Software\Foxit PDF Editor\plugins.
2:Locate the files named FoxitPDFEditorBrowserAx.dll and FoxitPDFEditorBrowserAx64.dll.
3:Rename these files. For example, you could rename them as FoxitPDFEditorBrowserAx1.dll and FoxitPDFEditorBrowserAx641.dll.
Solution 2: Disable the "Include Browser When Setting Default PDF Viewer" Option in Foxit PDF Editor:
1:Open the Foxit Advanced PDF Editor and navigate to the File tab, then go to Preferences > File Associations > Advanced.
2:Deselect the "Include browser when setting default PDF viewer" option and click "OK" to close the Advanced dialog box. Then, click on the "Make Default PDF Viewer" button, which is located under the "Advanced" button. Finally, click on "OK" in the preference dialog box to save this change.
By implementing either of the above solutions, you should be able to print a PDF file from your internal web systems using the IE web browser without encountering the FoxitPDFEditorBrowserAx error.
Note: We recommend reverting to the initial settings of the Foxit PDF Editor once you no longer need to use your internal web system to print PDF files.
