If you are rolling out Foxit inside your organization, and want to load the license file or registration key code in the process of the installing. You can use the transform file to perform the task.
Generate a Transform MST file
1. Download an MSI requisite installer and save it into a location called Shared_Folder for example.
2. Launch Foxit Customization Wizard tool to include the license file/registration code and/or XML file and save it to the Shared_Folder with .mst as the file format.
OR
Notes:
- An MSI requisite installer can be downloaded at the Downloads page.
- Please ensure the msi, MST and fct.cab files are saved in the same folder.
- We could choose to integrate the license key file or registration code when deploying. It is optional.
Using the Transform MST File
With Command-line Installation
Add an additional parameter TRANSFORMS="xxx.mst" when installing from command line.
Usage Example:
msiexec /i "xxx.msi" TRANSFORMS="xxx.mst"
With GPO Deployment
Add an additional parameter TRANSFORMS="xxx.mst" when extracting the data from .msi package with "/a".
Usage Example:
msiexec /a "xxx.msi" TRANSFORMS="xxx.mst"
Tip: In the Deployment Software dialog box, select Advanced option as the deployment method, click on Next button and then select the MST file on the Modification tab.
Note : The registration key code is supported to be added to the Foxit Customization Tool to generate the mst file since version 9.0.1. If still a license key file is needed, please contact support .
Additionally: To activate the installed Foxit PDF Editor (Pro) using an activation code, if the Foxit application was installed previously, you can use the -cmdactive or -cmdquietactive parameter. Here's an example using the activation code D7U31-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-R8M5Q-XXXXX:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Foxit Software\Foxit PDF Editor\Activation.exe" -cmdactive D7U31-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-R8M5Q-XXXXX
Or,
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Foxit Software\Foxit PDF Editor\Activation.exe" -cmdquietactive D7U31-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-R8M5Q-XXXXX
In addion, for the activation codes purchased from Foxit Reseller or Distributor, where the fifth character of the code is 'K', you will need to provide a license name when activating. Please use the following command line for activation.
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Foxit Software\Foxit PDF Editor\Activation.exe" -cmdactive F7E4K-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX -activename licenseename
or
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Foxit Software\Foxit PDF Editor\Activation.exe" -cmdquietactiv F7E4K-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX -activename licenseename
If you are having a license key file, and the Foxit application was installed previously, please use the Updatefpmkey.msi application to deploy the fpmkey.txt or fpekey.txt file to the installed Foxit PDF Editor (Pro).
First, click here to download the Updatefpmkey.msi file, then put the Updatefpmkey.msi and fpmkey.txt or fpekey.txt in the same folder. After deploying the Updatefpmkey.msi, the fpmkey/fpekey file will be successfully deployed.
